What are you buying?
The Sage Nespresso Creatista Plus is a coffee capsule machine that enables you to prepare cafe-style coffee straight from your kitchen worktop.
It offers eight different beverage selections that include black coffee (Espresso, Risstretto and Lungo) and milk-based recipes (Cafe Latte, Cappuccino, Flat White, and Macchiato), and it provides quite a bit of versatility in terms of adjusting settings such as milk texture, milk temperature and coffee volume to suit your personal preference.
With a high-performance 19-bar pump, the Creatista Plus cranks out plenty of pressure to help extract the maximum amount of flavour and aroma from each coffee capsule, and it produces some of the densest and most luxurious crema I have tasted in recent memory.
If you’re a fan of creating latte art, you will definitely appreciate the fact that this machine comes with a stainless steel barista milk jug that has a pour spout specifically designed for that purpose.
In addition, the Creatista Plus is highly energy efficient, with an auto shut-off feature that kicks in after the machine has been dormant for 9 minutes.
How easy is it to use?
The Creatista Plus is refreshingly easy to use; the operating instructions for the machine are extremely easy to follow, and if you simply go through them step by step, you will be up and running within five minutes.
One of the things that impressed me the most about this machine was its highly intuitive interface, which includes a high-resolution display that basically takes you by the hand and guides you through every aspect of setting, preparation and maintenance.
And with its super-fast heat-up time (only 3 seconds) and hassle-free cleaning features (such as the steam wand automatically purging itself after every use), it didn’t take long for me to become a huge fan of this wonderfully convenient coffee maker.
What accessories are included?
The Creatista Plus comes with a 480 ml stainless steel jug, as well as a complimentary welcome set of 16 different Nespresso coffee capsules with varying flavor and aromatic profiles.
Once you’re finished with your initial starter set, you can always replenish your collection of Grand Cru capsules by ordering online at Nespresso.com or through the Nespresso Club mobile app, or you can simply give them a call or visit a local Nespresso Boutique to order in person.

Anything else you should know?
One thing that I did not want to overlook is the aesthetic appeal of this machine. It is large enough to be taken seriously as a quality coffee maker, yet compact enough to fit on your worktop without sticking out like a sore thumb. Not only that, but its stainless steel construction and high-gloss finish give it a very sleek look that can mesh well with a wide range of kitchen decor choices.
There are dozens of coffee capsule machines on the market, and although I’m sure each one has its own merits, it’s rare to find a coffee maker that combines ease of use, elegant design and reliable performance all into one machine. Sage has handily accomplished this feat with the Nespresso Creatista Plus, so if you’re in the market for a high quality premium coffee maker, be sure to put this one on your short list.
Where to buy?
Frequently asked questions
1. What types of coffee does the Nespresso Creatista Plus make?
Because the Creatista Plus uses coffee pods, you can make a wide range of drinks depending on the pods you buy. These include black and milk coffees.
The machine itself has one-touch buttons for eight coffee recipes: espresso, ristretto and lungo for black coffee; cafè latte, latte macchiato, cappuccino, flat white and milk froth for milk coffees.
2. Is the Nespresso Creatista Plus worth it?
The Creatista Plus costs more than most automatic coffee makers. We think it’s worth it. For one, it generates more pressure (19 bars vs the usual 15 bars) for better espresso.
We also love the wide range of options it provides for coffee volume and milk texture.
For people who want barista-quality coffee without the hassle of operating a complicated machine, the Creatista Plus is worth the fairly high price tag.
3. How often do I need to descale the Nespresso Creatista Plus?
It depends on the hardness of your water and how much coffee you make. Don’t worry, the machine will alert you when it is time to descale.
The Nespresso descaler is quite expensive especially if you live in a hard water area and have to descale often. Many users say cheaper descalers from other brands work just as well.
